There is something special about seeing a custom home begin to take shape on a site that initially looks incredibly challenging.
Our latest Bevnol Homes project at Ian Place, Eildon is a perfect example.
Set on approximately 3.3 hectares of bushland, this property enjoys spectacular views across the surrounding ranges while presenting some significant construction challenges, including steep terrain, substantial excavation and a BAL-29 bushfire classification.
From the beginning, this was never going to be a project suited to a standard house-and-land approach. The home needed to be carefully designed around the site, its levels, surrounding vegetation and the lifestyle the owners wanted to create.
From Bush Block to Custom Home
Looking back at the original site photographs, it is remarkable to see the transformation already underway.
Extensive site preparation and earthworks were required to establish the building platform before the slab could be completed. Once the foundations were in place, the wall framing quickly began to define the size and layout of the new residence.
The latest milestone has seen the roof trusses installed, giving us our clearest indication yet of how the finished home will sit within this beautiful Eildon landscape.
According to the approved plans, the home includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a central open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, alfresco living and two attic spaces.
Designed to Complement the Eildon Landscape
The exterior selections will play an important part in connecting the home with its natural surroundings.
The finished residence will feature reclaimed red brickwork, complemented by Monument roofing, windows and doors. The combination of character brick and darker architectural finishes will create a timeless country aesthetic suited beautifully to the High Country environment.
This project also demonstrates why custom design can be so important when building on sloping, acreage or difficult sites. Rather than forcing a standard design onto the land, the home can respond to the site conditions, outlook and way the owners intend to live.
