Replacing the old home with something designed for the way the owners want to live

Rather than adapting their lifestyle around an existing home, the owners have chosen to start again on their existing block.

The result is a custom single-storey home incorporating:

• 3 bedrooms
• Study
• Separate rumpus/games room
• Open-plan kitchen, meals and family area
• Double garage
• Large outdoor deck and pergola

The proposed residence has been designed specifically for the block rather than attempting to fit a standard home onto an established Frankston South site.

What makes an established-site KDRB different?

Established suburbs can bring very different construction considerations to a new estate.

At Frankston South, the early stages have involved working around existing boundaries, neighbouring properties, vegetation, access, site levels and the structural requirements of the new home.

These are the details that are largely invisible once the landscaping is finished and the owners receive their keys.

That’s why we’re showing the journey — not just the finished photographs.

CURRENT PROGRESS

From cleared site to frame

The transformation is already well underway.

Stage 1 — Site preparation

Preparing the block, managing access and getting the site ready for construction.

Stage 2 — Excavation

Establishing the levels and preparing the site for the new structure.

Stage 3 — Foundations and subfloor

Footings, concrete works and the suspended timber floor system begin establishing the footprint of the new home.

Stage 4 — Frame

And this is where it suddenly becomes real.

Walls appear.

Rooms become recognisable.

The floor plan that once existed only on paper can finally be walked through.
