This custom-designed home on the Mornington Peninsula is a considered response to both site constraints and lifestyle aspirations. Positioned on a sloping corner block with an unusual orientation, the design required a tailored approach to maximise functionality, street presence, and liveability.
The home was carefully planned to work with the natural fall of the land, addressing multiple frontages while maintaining privacy and strong architectural cohesion. Every design decision was informed by the site conditions, ensuring the home sits comfortably within its environment while making the most of light, outlook, and access.
Designed around the clients’ lifestyle, the brief called for a three-bedroom home with a dedicated study and a relaxed coastal feel. A wrap-around porch creates a strong connection to the outdoors, encouraging everyday living that extends beyond the interior. Internally, raked ceilings enhance volume and light, reinforcing the open and welcoming nature of the home.
The coastal modern aesthetic is achieved through a thoughtful combination of materials, including weatherboard cladding, a Colorbond roof, and carefully selected accents of natural timber and stone. Together, these elements deliver a timeless yet contemporary home that reflects both its coastal setting and the individuality of its owners.
